"Hey, pretty lady. Where you trying to get a ride too?" a voice
spoke up behind Saila, and she turned, smiling a flirtatious smile.
She was currently guised as a woman, maybe twenty-ish in age,
with long wavy brown hair, in a sort of a summery dress. She
was holding a map in her hands, tracing over the paths with her
finger. She had used this guise, one of her mother to be exact, to
get numerous rides from heros to where she needed to go, and
as this one spoke, the smile curled onto her lips. It had taken ten
minutes of waiting for something to happen, for somebody to pay
notice to the girl who shouldn't be standing near a Gummi Ship
shop, looking lost and in need to get somewhere, even if she
had to walk. That wasn't an option for her, however.
"Actually, yes. My boyfriend is practicing to become a hero down
at the Olympus Colosseum, and I told him I'd come down, but I
can't catch a ride," she said calmly, folding her map and tucking it
into her satchel. Both of the statements were lies, except for not
having a ride to get to the Colosseum. If heros could just waltz
in, then was stopped girls from giving a shot at a fight? The man
agreed, and she followed him easily onto his ship. Saila wouldn't
lie, the man tried a few things on her doing the ride, and it took
every grain of self-control from pulling out her shurikin and
throwing it at the man's throat. She just reminded him that she
had a boyfriend, and he was the next Hercules, and he backed
off. She knew that name still instilled fear around here...
And that was how Saila got to the Colosseum. As soon as the
ship disappeared from sight, she shifted back to her regular
appearance, her shuriken jangling lightly as they slung down on
her string on her belt. She pulled out her tessen and made sure
that the blades we concealed behind the silky fabric. Pulling one
of the strings near her skirt, the ninja-stars disappeared
underneath her skirt. She was relying on her shifting and the
element of surprise with her attacks, and she still had a few
magic spells up her sleeve too. She was hoping to maybe nail her
Light combos, but she wasn't going to rely on them too heavily in
the battle. She started up the steps, not letting her eyes wander
too long on her surroundings. She couldn't afford to be distracted.
She pushed open the doors, and a brief flash of memory took
over her mind, the few times she'd come through these doors to
train with Phil. No, this time she was here to fight. She didn't care
what the man said, she was ready for it. Anyways, he was just
worried about the popularity of sending a girl in there. She was
tempted find one of the large statues and shift her appearance
to be a life version of those, but she decided otherwise. It'd been
several months since her last visit, but she needed to get out of
the world she was in earlier. Already, she was forgetting the
name, but she shook her head. All that mattered was perfecting
her skills, and maybe finding the power to get a keyblade. If she
did that, it was possible to redeem Asazen's heart...
Saila went to step over the ropes into the arena, but she heard
Phil call after her saying that it wasn't safe for her, and blah blah
blah, girls couldn't be heros, blah blah blah, he didn't have a fight
for her. When she turned around with a glare that could freeze
over Hades, he looked her over, and rolled his eyes. Saying
something like 'fine, kiddy, I'll call up a friend. But don't run to me
if you break a nail', he stalked off, and she continued in the
arena to get warmed up before Phil's buddy showed up. It'd
been a while since she'd been in the arena, even if it was
missing the training barrels and the Heartless that she could rip
to shreds, and she was relieved to find it still empty. At least she
would be able to concentrate.
Pulling out her tessen, she gently tugged at the material,
revealing an iron blade about two inches long, encompassing the
fan like a decorative metal. She flicked it open, inspecting the
blade to check for scratches and fatal chinks that she would need
to get fixed with some money she collected around the place.
She gave it a throw, even with her waist as a quick flick, and it
soared straight ahead for about fifteen feet, before seeming to
catch a wind and turning and flying back to her outstretched
palm. She caught it ease, smiling, and tucked it back into it's case
on her other side of her skirt, tugging at a few ponytails so that
they wouldn't come undone and get in her way. She was
tempted to just cut it off, but it was something she couldn't do.
She gave a few inspections to her shuriken, giving the few with
the strings a twirling tries, trying to charge some power into the
string, but with no results. Saila knew that Asa would give her
crap if she was going to give up on it, but she knew that she
couldn't do it in this battle. Looking up to the sky, then down at
the ground, wondering where Asa was if she was still alive. Or, if
you could call that alive. As she thought of this, she didn't hear
the footprints of her battler coming in through the doors. She
wouldn't have been worried if she did, however, because she
knew that fights couldn't begin until Phil gave a whistle or what-
ever. And she would have plenty of time to react if some-body
started running at her. She was trained for this kind of stuff.
